Cranberry Orange Smoothie

Cranberry Orange Smoothie - Living Healthy in Seattle

Okay how is it already December?

This year flew by!

I have most of my holiday gifts taken care of already, but I still need to find my mom a salad bowl…

No no I’m not that lame.

She actually asked for a salad bowl this year.

“A medium sized, cute salad bowl.”

Easier said than done.

All the bowls I’ve come across thus far are either way too boring or just plain weird.

Like all white ceramic or polka dot borderline dalmatian status.

(And I don’t care if that dalmatian bowl happens to be Kate Spade.)

Isn’t there something in the middle??

Anyway.

I purchased way too many cranberries for Thanksgiving and ended up having to freeze some of those tart suckers for future usage.

Since I’m not one to waste, they made their way into a festive tangy smoothie, along with zesty orange juice, creamy yogurt, very ripe sweet banana slices, and ground cinnamon for a little extra something something. Unless you thoroughly enjoy puckering up, I recommend adding some pure maple syrup to the mix.

Blend, blend, blend!

P.S. My blender is officially T-U, so if anyone wants to oh so kindly gift yours truly a Vitamix, that would be much appreciated. (Mom I know you don’t even read this blog thing but that was your hint.)

P.P.S. December really means sugar, so please do indulge but don’t forget to squeeze a couple salads in there too.

P.P.P.S. What are your thoughts on fruitcake? I’m semi-intrigued and kind of want to whip one up. Fruitcake is usually soaked in alcohol… so how bad can it really be?
